Installation Instructions for the EITS Sales-i Extraction Utility
for MAM V20
1] Download the Application.

The application should be installed on a PC that is normally left on all the
time and is connected to the network having access to the database server.

Click HERE to download the zip file
containing the installer.

A file download dialogue screen will appear:

Click on the 'Save' button and the 'Save As' windows dialogue screen will
appear:

Select the location where the file is to be saved and click the 'Save' button,
the file will start downloading and when complete the following screen will
display:

Now click the 'Open Folder' button to open the folder where the file was
downloaded, a windows explorer window will now open:

Right click with the mouse on the file and select a location to extract the
files in to:

Now open the folder location where the files were extracted to:
2] Install the Application.

Double click the file named 'Setup.exe' in the folder where the extract files
were extracted to:

The installshield wizard will start:

The main installation screen will then be displayed, click the 'Next' button:

Enter a user & company name, click the 'Next' button:
-
Click the 'Next' button to install to the default location:
-
Click the 'Install' button to begin the installation:
-
The install will begin, this will take a few minutes to complete:

Click the 'Finish' button to complete the installation:
3] Configuring the Application.

The installer places a shortcut to the utility on the desktop, and also a
second shortcut in the'StartMenu->Programs' folder. Double click the
shortcut on the desktop to start the utility. The utilty will now open and the
Licence Dialogue box will display:
To continue you must now obtain a Licence Code from Expert IT Solutions.
This can be done either by sending an e-mail request for a licence (the
'Registration Number' displayed on the screen must be included) to
support@solutionexpert.co.uk or alternatively calling support on 0845
004 1796.

Once you have a Licence Code type it into the field provided on the form, then
select the Green tick Menu Icon to save the code. If this is successful then
the Licence Dialogue box will disappear.

The next step is to set up the configuration options for the extraction
utility, the first section being the 'File Options' to select where the
extracted files will go and also to set an Abbreviated Customer Name.
Either type a location in to the 'Export File Path' field, for example
'C:\Sales-i Export\' and then press the 'Tab' key on your keyboard. If the
folder does not exist you will be prompted to create it.
or click on the browse button (the magnifying glass) to select a folder. The
default that displays will be the location that the Sales-i utility has been
installed to. Once a folder has been selected click the 'Ok' button on the
dialogue to continue, the folder slected will then appear in the 'Export File
Path' field.
It is recommended that if you select the default
location 'C:\Program Files\Sales-i Data Extract Utility for MAM
V20\' that the path is changed to include a sub-folder e.g.
'C:\Program Files\Sales-i Data Extract Utility for MAM V20\Export\'
Now press the 'Tab' key on your keyboard. If the folder does not exist you will
be prompted to create it (as shown above).
Now enter an Abbreviated Name (maximum 8 characters) for your Company e.g. if
the company name were 'My Motor Factor' this could be entered as 'MMF'.

Now enter the 'Database Options'. If the database connection details are not
known then instructions of how to find them are available HERE

Now enter the 'FTP Options'. These will be provided by Sales-i.

Leave the 'Auto Export Options' for the time being and click the button 'More
Options' to continue. At this point if any information has been omitted or the
database details are incorrect then an error message may display, otherwise the
'File Code Options' page will display as follows:

Now enter the 'Customer File Analysis Codes' as appropriate:

Now enter the 'Product File Group Codes'. Only the first code - Group Level 1
is manadatory.

Click the 'Close Options' button to save the settings. The options screen will
now close and the Manual Extraction Screen will display:
4] Extracting Data using the Application.

Firstly a manual extraction of 24 months worth of data should be undertaken.
select the required date range and tick the include options as appropriate. Now
click on the 'Create Files' button to start the process. Depending on the size
of the product file and the number of daily transactions that take place this
may take some time:
As the extraction progresses and the Products and Customer file shave been
created two further selectable options for refreshing these files will appear
on the screen.

When the data extraction is complete the 'FTP Status' controls will appear:
To upload the files to the Sales-i FTP server click on the 'Upload Files'
button:

Once the FTP upload is complete then Sales-i should be advised. Sales-i will
then check the integrity of the uploaded files and load the data into the
Sales-i database. Once the initial data has been loaded then the Auto Upload
feature in the extract utility can be configured.
To set up the Auto options from the Menu select'Tools->File Options' the
options page will display. In the 'Auto Export Options' frame towards the
bottom of the screen click on the 'Parameters' button to display the 'Auto
Options' screen.
The first time this screen displays a Date Range will be displayed, the 'To
Date' would normally be set to todays date and the 'From Date' would be set to
one month previous. Select the Include check box options as required and the
time for the Auto Extraction to run. Click The 'Close' button to save the
settings.

The 'File Options' will now display again. Click on the checkbox 'Auto Run
Export' to set the utility to run automatically.
Click the 'More Options' button then on the next screen click 'Close Options'.
The manual export screen will then display and the next extraction time will be
displayed on the left hand side of the bottom grey bar. The 'Quit' button has
now been replaced with the 'Hide' button.

The extract utlity is now set to run all the time. If the PC is restarted then
the extract utility should now start automatically. Click the 'Hide' button to
minimize the application to the system tray.
